Tropical Low Waves 001 H
Tropic Low Waves H x 900 Wide.jpg

A Tropical Low Pressure System created huge waves as it passed the Sunshine Coast. A nearby wave recording buoy recorded seas to 15 metres at the time I took this image. Taken at the base of Moffat Headland one can see the top part of a passing container ship. I adore the incredible vertical face of the dumping wave at right. A south westerly land breeze blows spray high into the air adding contrast to the dark sky.
